Ken Smith got his first win as Homewood-Flossmoor's head football coach as The Times No. 5 Vikings beat Thornwood 41-14 on Friday night.
Suppo Sanni caught two touchdown passes from Russell Ellington and Mark Franklin rushed for two scores.
Andrej Skiba kicked field goals of 42 and 37 yards.
"It feels great to get that first win," Smith said. "But we have a lot of work to be prepared for our conference schedule."
Homewood-Flossmoor is 1-1 while the Thunderbirds fell to 0-2.
St. Rita 38, De La Salle 15: The Meteors fell behind 24-0 in losing to the Mustangs in a Catholic League crossover game.
Elliott Brown and Cordero Gaston scored for De La Salle (1-1). Brown rushed for 107 yards on eight carries.
Rich South 46, Thornridge 6: Marcus Harnett's 75-yard kickoff return in the third quarter was the Falcons' lone score as they fell to 0-2.
Rich South is 1-1.
