Movies: 'Ice Age 3' a woolly, witty adventure

Everybody's favorite oddball herd is back for yet another family-friendly adventure in "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs." The mammoths Manny and Ellie, Sid the sloth, Diego the saber-toothed tiger and twin possums Eddie and Crash must reevaluate their status as a crew in the wake of "Ice Age: The Meltdown."

Given Eloisa James' pedigree -- her father is poet Robert Bly, she has degrees from Harvard, Oxford and Yale, and is a professor of Shakespeare -- one might expect her to publish dry academic tomes. Indeed, she did write a nonfiction book published by Oxford University Press.
